VOC-B4 Electrochemical Gas Sensor For Environmental Air Quality Monitoring

Product Introduction:

VOC - B4 is an electrochemical gas sensor. It can detect VOC gases and CO gases. When used in conjunction with CO - B4 sensor, it can estimate the VOC concentration without bias voltage. VOC - B4 and VOC - A4 are perfect partners of Alphasense's amperometric four - electrode air quality sensors. In environmental air quality applications, VOC - B4 should be used in combination with one of the A - series (CO - A4) or B - series (CO - B4) carbon monoxide sensors. Although it is recommended to use these sensors without bias voltage for air quality applications, the bias voltage of VOC - B4 can be changed to 0V, 0.1V, 0.2V or 0.3V, allowing the selection to detect different types of gases.

Working Principle:

It is an electrochemical gas sensor, which measures the current by oxidizing or reducing the measured gas at the electrode, and then obtains the concentration of the target gas. The gas diffuses into the working electrode of the sensor through the back of the porous membrane, and is oxidized or reduced here. This electrochemical reaction causes a current to flow through the external circuit.

Application Scenarios:

It is suitable for environmental air quality monitoring, such as underground garage CO concentration detection. When the CO concentration in the environment exceeds the preset alarm value, the sensor can automatically alarm and trigger the exhaust system for air replacement, which can effectively prevent the safety risks caused by the excessive CO concentration. It can also be used in the detection of benzene, formaldehyde, ethanol and other compounds, and is applicable to various environmental monitoring scenarios.

VOC - B4 sensor can be seamlessly integrated into a custom - made circuit through Alphasense's individual sensor board (ISB) to provide accurate and reliable VOC detection, meeting specific application requirements.
